The other cool kids do it better than this. Hmmmmm. Still, it does a job.

Hello, IJ.

It has been some time. My brain has been farty, and very random, for far too long. But I have missed you.

*snuggles IJ*

So hi! How's everyone? All well, I hope and trust. I need to sweep the dust off this account and start posting here again. Actually, I need to do that in general - both me AND my RP characters. Heh.

However, I've been away with my mum and no.1 daughter this past weekend, so updating wasn't possible even if I wanted to. What did we do, I hear you ask? I shall tell you! Settle down and grab a cuppa while I do so.

My weekend - let me tell you about it )

Back to RP stuff tonight, I promise xxx

Post to stop deletion of account. :D

Things!

Just in case I forget or can't get to post:

Saturday is Anna's 19th birthday, so I'll be unavailable for a fair bit of the day since we're all congregating in mum and dad's house (including Moose :D), for to be celebrating.

19... dear sweet holy shit... how did that happen?

Sunday is Mother's Day, but I won't be going back up to mum and dad's place since we're doing it all on Saturday. Instead I shall be spending the day doing laundry and getting clothes and stuff sorted out and packed in time for...

Monday - IRELAND, BABY! I shall be heading on over to Belfast and thence to Bangor to stay with [info]scriblix, [info]duj_1arm and Lord Matthew for 10 days. I can't wait! It's been FAR too long since I've seen them (at least, IMHO it is. I don't know how they feel about it, ahahahahahahahahah)

I have no internet connection since... I need to pay the bill. Ahahahaha. Still, it's basic economics. I could either go to Ireland or pay for my Broadband, TV and phone. No contest. I can pay the bill when I get back.

In the meantime, I have a handy dongle I can use. It belongs to [info]harliquinade, but she did say I could hang on to it for now. :D I couldn't get any connection with it yesterday, but it seems that the simple act of moving upstairs and laptopping from bed helps immensely. So that is what I am doing. :D Moose seems perfectly content to splay herself over the bed, too. Win/win!

Go and listen to The Damnwells. Really, go. You know you want to. Or, at least, you know I want you to, which is just as important. :D

Lamb Rogan Josh, mushroom pilau rice and garlic & coriander naan certainly all conspire to make a mealtime extra-nom. *curls toes*

Hi all. How is? Here are the things that are currently making Alison a happy bunny.

Being Human, series 3
The Big Bang Theory
Bones
Hawaii Five 0
Pillars of the Earth
Primeval, series 4

Project Noir RP
The resurrection of Elizabeth/Aric... SQUEEEEEEEEEE!

The contemplation of the continuation of Diamond Dogs along with Ben/Attie... SQUEEEEEEE!

My YO!Sushi cookbook is on its way, along with my 2-disc extended edition of Flood and my Horrible Histories 2011 annual :D

and, of course, Moose - who is currently having a mad half hour which seemed to be triggered when I told her that Mr. Sainsbury's will be coming tomorrow with her egg custards. :D

Of course there are icky things - the lack of 24, Misfits and The Walking Dead for three. Also, I'm completely inadequate at doing RP applications. My brain requires serious thwapping over that, to get it into action. Alsoalso, I'm decidedly miffed at the seeming complete lack of a Kiefer Sutherland calendar anywhere in the world. WTF???

And then there are my unfinished fics... *sighs*

Other than that though, yis. February next week, which means the approach of Viking Week in York. That's highly excellent and I have my fingers crossed that Terry Deary might be there again.

Firstly, and at the risk of boring everyone with the continued mentions, my spine seems considerably better today. *crosses fingers* I can still feel it but it's nowhere near as painful as it has been. Hopefully this means I can remain sitting for longer than 20 minutes at a time.

I am WOEFULLY behind in my RP application-doing. This has been mainly because I haven't been able to stay sitting up to concentrate on the task in hand. I need to get on and do them without delay! *thwaps self*

While I've been out of commission I've been sleeping a lot. This will surprise nobody who knows me. But on top of that I've been rewatching Stuff. Yvonne and I rewatched Chamber of Secrets while finishing off the Pringles that were left from New Year. :D Fun day. And I've also been grabbed (again) by Inkheart. I loffs that film like nothing normal, and Paul Bettany is LOOOOOOOOOOOOVELY in it. Win/Win, basically.

BEING HUMAN IS BACK ON SUNDAY!!!!! *GLEEFUL* Of course, I'm still totally bereft about the lack of any more 24, but this is Good News nonetheless. And the slashiness of the new series of Primeval is also toe-curlingly lovely. So there is light amidst the gloom.

[info]scriblix!!!!! REMIND ME ABOUT YOUR VALENTHS! I HAVE SOME FOR YOU.

Also, one of the RP characters I'm applying for is Simon from Misfits. Anybody interested in applying for Nathan? Or Alisha? Or, y'know... any of the others? :D :D :D SPREAD THE MISFITS LOVE!

No. 1 daughter is home! Actually, she's been home since Sunday but it bears saying.

Went into Town with her and Mum on Monday and we had lunch in Yo!Sushi, using our 40% discount vouchers. GAH! So much lovely stuff! Chicken Hayashi is to die for! And they're still serving "Christmas" Mocchi - with cake mix filling and coconut coating. GAH! GAH!

The only downside to the afternoon was taking over an hour in the T-Mobile shop while Yvonne and Mum upgraded their mobiles. *headdesk*

THEN! We ended the day with coffee in Pret a Manger and sat at the next table to Rebecca Ferguson, who came second in this year's X-Factor. :D She went to the same primary school as my two and I used to chat to her mum loads on the playground... well, not loads, but I did know her. :D So Yvonne sneaked a couple of photos (she didn't actually know Rebecca since she was in the year above her). So yes. That. Celebrity encounters. *lol*

Of course, my sodding spine is still giving me gyp. I jarred it again, which really doesn't help. But I'm off to the doctor's surgery on Friday for a general poke over with regards to the rest of my wheelbarrowload of medication, so I'll ask him for stronger painkillers for the time being. It really is necessary since, even with a laptop, it's really not easy keeping up to date online when I have to be lying on my side so sodding often.

So yes. To do list:

- Collect prescription and have it made up.
- Wrap presents for Boy of Yvonne.
- Tell Anna about job vacancies at New York Bar on Allerton Road.
- Applications (Lester x2, Simon, David, Chiana)
- Give [info]scriblix her Valenth critters
- ARR PEE!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
*LOVES ALL*

Actually it's been 2011 here for four hours and five minutes now, but [info]deepdarkwaters (on Livejournal) and I have been partying quietly with Moose so I've only just got to my LJ to post.

Before I forget... my laptop is now officially named. She (for she is most definitely female) is henceforth baptised Chiana. Thank you to chums who voted.

Benedictine and lemonade tastes devine, by the way. Really really lovely. I couldn't coax B into trying the sheer nomminess of hazelnut Baileys though, sadly.

HOWEVER!!! She is now a definite convert to Misfits... HURRAH! I knew I could persuade somebody one day!!! :D :D :D We've watched the first four episodes of series 1 today and, no doubt, will be watching more before she goes home. *uses Simon icon in celebration*

Right. We have to be at my Auntie's house by around 12.30 for New Year's Day lunch, so sleep must be had, along with painkillers. My coccyx isn't quite so sore as it has been since I landed full weight on it on Boxing Day, but it's still somewhat sore. >.< Night night, all. xxx

Mellow Yellow?: awake awake
THINGS!

- I am back, peeps! :D

- Last notice for anyone wanting a Christmas card from me (I do send Christmas cards, not Holiday cards since Holiday cards are pretty rare over here in the old U of K). EMAIL ME YOUR ADDRESS ON black.narcissus [at] gmail [dot] com SINCE THIS JOURNAL IS NOT FRIENDS ONLY!!!

- The Walking Dead owns my shrivelled, blackened little soul. Or at least it shares it with Bones, Hawaii Five 0, Misfits, The Big Bang Theory, New Tricks and all those which have gone before (24, Farscape, Moonlight, Night Stalker).

- Last Rainbows tomorrow until 2011. CHRISTMAS PARTY, YAY! This means I'll be afk for different hours tomorrow - from around 3.45pm to 9.00pm.

- ARPEE! YES PLEASE!!! I have gone on long hiatus/temporary resignation from BLC, but I WILL be back there with a reduced character list in the New Year. I'm also desperately missing the original game characters I played with on LJ. This hits me occasionally - I suppose it's something along the lines of First Loved, Best Loved. But I miss them SO much. *mourns*

- IT'S SO DAMN COLD!

- The rest of the UKOT3, who will be visiting me for New Year shenanigans - I'm putting a food order together for the Event (we will be going to my Auntie's house for New Year's Day dindins :D) so let me know what you want adding to it. Black pudding is a given, and smoked mackerel (both peppered and non) have been added to the list. If either of you see a bottle of framboise on your travels can you grab it? This is so we can make Grant's Twists - [info]scriblix, take it from me. B and I both tried this Wonder in Manchester and YOU WILL LOVE IT!

- Rebecca Ferguson (she who came 2nd in this year's X Factor) went to primary school with no.1 daughter. Ahahaha. I didn't recognise her until I saw her mum - whom I remembered VERY well since we stood on the same playground together for several years. #famewhores

- Armstrong & Miller series 3 dvd arrived today, and my Inception dvd (complete with spinning top, movie cards, PASIV instruction book and case) should be with me tomorrow. Hurrah!

Mellow Yellow?: cold cold
THINGS!

My internet (and TV) seem to be back and working properly after still being somewhat awkward yesterday even after a visit from an engineer. *crosses fingers*

This, of course, means that RP replies will be attended to and posts made. *cheers*

I'm having mad love for my new BlackBerry Curve. Seriously. GAH! Total Glory!

ANYONE WHO ISN'T WATCHING THE WALKING DEAD REALLY NEEDS TO START DOING SO/CATCHING UP WITHOUT DELAY. IT IS UTTER HORRIFIC BRILLIANCE! *addict*

No.1 daughter, she who is [info]yvonneb on LJ, will be coming home tomorrow for a few days. Yay! *misses her madly* I've put in a request for Hotel Chocolat fare, and we will be going to see Deathly Hallows pt.1 on Friday with, hopefully (since mumsy will be coming with us and tends to insist) a trip to Yo! Sushi too. Mmmmmmmmmmm, chicken katsu curry... This will be a second viewing of the film for me and I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE IT AGAIN!!!!!

EMAIL ME WITH YOUR ADDRESSES, PEEPS! I'M GATHERING INFO FOR CHRISTMAS CARDS! EITHER THAT OR REPLY HERE - I'LL SCREEN THE REPLIES. BASICALLY, IF YOU CAN SEE THIS, I MEAN YOU!

HAPPY
BIRTHDAY
[info]scriblix

You know I love you madly much, and I hope you have an excellent day with doing everything you want to including having full control of the remote!

Mellow Yellow?: jubilant jubilant

Ohai! :D

Just got back from mumsy's house. I've been there most of the afternoon and was persuaded with very little difficulty to stay for tea and chats. Lovely, mmmmmm.

Mum and Dad have had the hall, stairs and landing redecorated and have a lovely shiny-new carpet out there. It really is gorgeous! However, I am in Trauma since they've got rid of the phone shelf in the hall. No, really, you don't understand. It might have been tacky and ugly and stuff, but it had been there since 1973 and, after 37 years, I miss it. Not enough to want to rescue it, I'll grant you. But I'm sure they could've got a few quid for it in a retro-type shop. It was all white and plastic and rounded-edged. Horrible, really. But there you go.

They also have had the living room repapered (thank FUCK, since the eyesore paper they had before had me dreaming of triffids!), and have an absolutely GORGEOUS new fireplace and surround. I've told them, when they die, that fucker's coming to live with me!

Things down here at House o' Shite, however, are not so good. I mentioned the other day about a whole panel of my front fence having bit the dust. Well, some of the local kids have been issued - uh, can't remember what the letters are but it's one stage down from them having ASBOs, and their parents are on Final Warnings from the Housing Association that owns the properties. This is what I get for buying something in the middle of a (albeit teeny wee) Council estate. It might be situated in one of the best areas of Liverpool, but I suppose every area has its shithole and I happen to live in Ground Zero of ours.

Oh yeah, and the stone-throwing and egg-smashing at the windows has already started. I'm dreading fucking Mischief Night and Hallowe'en. Little shits.

Health-wise, though, my brain seems to be clearing of its fog, for which thank FUCK. This one lasted some time. I find myself in the position of having to play serious catch-up in RP again. I'm surprised people are still patient enough to put up with me. That shall be commenced, though. Probably tomorrow morning now since it's 11.30 and I confess to being just a little tired.

- Hawaii Five-0 redux is STILL entertaining me like a wonderful thing. McGarrett and Danno have superb slashy/homoerotic banter and I love them.
- The Big Bang Theory also continues to delight and entertain. I swear I can't pick my favourite boy - I need them ALL.
- The Walking Dead is ready to be watched and I'm tingling with anticipatory GLEE.
- I also have full plans to go and see Burke and Hare when it comes out. I hadn't read anything about its production so I had NO idea it was done as a comedy. Can't wait!
- NEW SERIES OF THE ARMSTRONG & MILLER SHOW STARTS ON SATURDAY! *closes eyes and wishes REALLYREALLYHARD for World of Fightcraft*

So see... it's not ALL bad.

xxx

- I am ALWAYS ill for a couple of days after having excellent funtiemz with people. I hate it. Booooooo. But that does not mean I'm about to give up the funtiemz. I shall just keep on taking the tablets.

- Not going to be able to go to Collectormania next month after all. Financial issues coupled with the proximity to Christmas mean it's not possible. Bah. Still, there'll always be next summer and LFCC 2011. I shall just have to start saving in January.

- I have a dentist's appointment at 12.30 today for a filling, along with discovering just what makes one of my other teeth hurt like hell whenever I chew on anything with it. I swear there's more amalgam in my mouth than enamel. Not good.

- I shall be catching up on replies and posts from today. Monday was out because my brain was trying to escape out of my nose and ears. Yesterday my back gave up the fight at Rainbows and I had to get a taxi home since I could hardly walk even with my stick. Today, though, once I've been to the dentist, I'll be able to lie down for a few more hours then get into it. Sorry for absences. I seem to be saying that an awful lot lately, but I'm quite simply falling apart.

- Go and see Armstrong and Miller live if you possibly can. You really will love it madly.

Il Buono -

- Moose was a Very Good Girl for the vet and her ears and eyes are now all better. She was also madly good when she got her inoculation. *proud mummy*

- Going to be meeting up with [info]thieving_gypsy on Saturday for Manchester museum/gallery geekery. This can NEVER be a bad thing. It has been made all the sweeter by me getting a cheap bus ticket - £5.50 return instead of £18.20 on the train. Since Manchester is only 35 miles away and the bus goes via the motorway, it's only a 10 minutes longer journey. No difference at all really. No worries.

- SATURDAY! ARMSTRONG AND MILLER! AGAIN! This can mean only one thing:

Also, my A & M book has been dispatched! It SHOULD be here tomorrow. Everyone send vibes that it gets here before I leave for Manchester so that I can take it with me and get teh boiz (and Katherine Jakeways, who is superb as their only other cast member!!!) to sign it. I shall offer them a packet of Bassett's Jelly Babies as a bribe. I can't say fairer than that.

Il Brutto -

- I hate having bugger all money. I hate it SO much I've even been considering looking Elsewhere for a job. Of course, I'm not SERIOUSLY considering it, you understand.

- I also hate the local kids. As does poor Moose. They tease her by throwing stuff at the windows because they know she ALWAYS goes batshit when they do it.

Il Cattivo -

- Getting a friend request from somebody on Facebook. Don't get me wrong, I don't DISLIKE this woman, I really don't. But she's the sort who tries to kill you with kindness and takes over your life, telling you what you should and shouldn't be doing. I haven't spoken to her in at least four years and, to be honest, I prefer it that way. I'm just ignoring the request for now and hoping she doesn't poke.

- Finding a LONG-forgotten pack of baby potatoes in the food cupboard when trying to find the source of a somewhat musty smell is... not pretty. I've had to mop out the shelf (thankfully, the bottom shelf of the cupboard or much Ick would have dripped down on stuff). *shudders*

Have more A & M to make it better:

(FYI, in case anyone is wondering. This sketch pre-dates House by a few years :D)

YAY FOR STUFFS!

Also, this just heard on Animal Cops Houston about a rescued German Shepherd:

"Benny here has a great personality; very charming. He's very outgoing - loves walks. I think he'd make someone a great companion"

*amused*

Rumours of my recent death are grossly exaggerated

So yes. Those to whom I was chatting at around 1am on Friday, I apologise for my sudden departure *HUGS TRACY AND LEX*. My internets fritzed and I've been unable to get online since then. It has been a Trying Time.

However, I now have a shiny new modem and, after a couple of issues with initially starting the thing, I AM BACK!

Did you miss me?

I also has a [info]thieving_gypsy with me. YAY! Last night we went for Chinese all-you-can-eat-for-£6.95 fudz followed by ARMSTRONG & MILLER!!!

EVERYONE WHO CAN POSSIBLY MAKE IT NEEDS TO SEE THEM AT LEAST ONCE ON THIS TOUR!!! IT WAS SUCH MAGNIFICENCE AND XANDER RAN WITHIN ABDUCTION DISTANCE OF US AND THERE WAS MUCH SLASHY SINGING STUFF AT THE END AND BIFFY&SPUD AND BRABBINS&FYFFE AND NEW VAMPIRE PEOPLES AND IT'S KICKING OFF AGAIN, PRU AND DOCTOR ZIA AND JILTED JIM AND GAYBARS AND REGENCY DANCING AND DENNIS LINCOLN-PARK AND THE ORIGINS OF SPEECH AND... WORLD OF FIGHTCRAFT! WITH BENTHOR AND XANNATRON AND MY RIBS HURT WITH LAUGHING SO MUCH AND THEY STILL HURT TODAY AND IT WAS JUST SIMPLY UTTER GENIUS AND BEN PLAYS GUITAR!!!

So yes. Ahem. It was SUCH fun. I have a gas mask poster saying "Hitler will send no warning because he's a massive remtard" - actually B has one of those too. :D And a t-shirt with "Keep Calm and Carry On and Shit" - because I always have to have a t-shirt. :D AND I WANT A COPY OF THEIR NEW BOOK!

*calms down a bit*

Seriously, though. If you have ANY way of getting to see them on the tour, it's SO worth it. Go! GO, I tell you! I never send you wrong on important stuff.

Sing My Song: Let's Get Together (In a Non-Sexual Way)

First!

Saw the first episode of the remake of Hawaii Five-O. Liking it. Okay, I'm biased because... d'uh! Alex O'Loughlin!!!!! But EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! JEAN SMART WAS IN IT AND I HAD NO IDEA! *loffs her* And James Marsters!!!! *dances* Not that he'll be a regular ::coughs:: but never mind. FUN!

Second!

I has a LEX on the same landmass!!!! I foresee several revisits to the delights of Dorset before she goes back to California. I need to visit Corfe and Durdle Door/Lulworth Cove again - and MONKEY WORLD! It's been FAR too long since I was last in Dorset... and the best reason of all now is that LEX IS THERE!

Third!

Armstrong and Miller this coming Sunday! *excited* I booked the tickets in May - can't believe it's finally almost here.

Have some Biffy and Spud:

And, just for [info]scriblix, some Sportsfest 2010 :D

Fourth!

My brain has been on random play for the past several days. I can only apologise. I have NO excuse for it - well, I do, but it'd be almost completely wangsty. It just happens sometimes. I'm on the way back, I promise. *keeps taking the tablets*

Fifth!

Anyone who hasn't watched SyFy's Alice should ignore the stupid new spelling of the channel's name and go and do so immediately. It really is very very good. I watched it a while back and, since a couple of the characters are now in one of the games I'm supposed to be playing (>.< *woefully negligent*), I had to give it another viewing.

Sixth!

TEA!

Seventh!

Point me at RP, peoples. I really AM seeing the light at the end of the tunnel today, and I've missed you all madly.

Sing My Song: Mika - Grace Kelly

It amuses me beyond words that Pope Benny's UK tour begins in Edinburgh. Those of you who have ever RPed OCs with me will understand this.

Anna has started work this morning. She's working in a shop in town called SoHo. They do all goth and steampunk stuff, apparently, but Anna will be working in the basement with the retro/second hand stuff. Mwahahahahahahahaha. I may just have to pay a visit before too long. But if you're in Liverpool, it's on Bold Street.

Randomly, I have no cursor... this is more off-putting than it might seem since the typing is working fine. I just can't see where things are. Hmmmmmf. Any clues how to get it back? There's nothing at all.

Things for the day:

1. Moose's ointment and drops
2. Cup of tea
3. Catch up on RP replies
4. Ironing (bleugh)
5. Moar tea
6. Lunch
7. Moar tea
8. Hang laundry out since rain is due to stop shortly after 1pm
9. Moar ironing
10. RP posts

Have I forgotten anything?
